U.S. MBON Releases First Project Update

Looking up from below the water's surface in Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary

In Fall 2014, three approved Marine Biodiversity Observation Network (MBON) pilot projects launched in Alaska, California, and Florida, each working to develop an operational MBON that can be launched at other sites with resulting data that can be linked to local, national, and international databases including GEO BON. This February, U.S. MBON released their first project update, with cross-MBON news and a special focus on the Sanctuaries MBON project, happening in the Florida Keys and California's Monterey Bay.
