In our final Z-Gram of 2016, let me take this opportunity to say thank you to each of you for advancing the ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes observing/monitoring/predicting enterprise.  Wishing you season's greetings and a very happy new year. As has been a tradition, please enjoy our annual holiday greeting!

With lots of buoys and Argo Floats
HF Radars on the pier

Is an enterprise, they say
Data and info, but the partners know
How it came to life one day

There must have been some magic
In the ICOOS Act we notion
For when it was signed into law
We began to observe the ocean

IOOS the System
Progressed a lot through the DMAC
Launched the EDS Viewer, an ATN plan,
And a brand new Sensor Map

SECOORA, NANOOS
CARICOOS and SCCOOS

IOOS the System
Knows a lot about the sea
Like waves and tides and winds and currents
And biodiversity

Up on the Hill
With our slidedeck in our hands
Running to and fro, all around we go
Sayin’ “IOOS is really grand!”

Zdenka led them down the coasts and shores
Right to the deep blue sea
And she only paused to see the sensors
From ACT and OTT

IOOS the System
Had a jolly happy year
And we wave goodbye, sayin “Keep your eyes,
On the ocean far and near.”
