The California ROMS-BEC model (Regional Oceanic Modeling System coupled online to the Biogeochemical Elemental Cycling) is a coupled physical-biogeochemical oceanic model providing hindcast outputs for the period of 1997-2017 after three and half years of spin up. The model is forced offline by a 6-km resolution atmospheric Weather Research Forecast model (WRF6). The domain encompasses the entire California coast at a resolution of 1 km. ROMS-BEC is co-developed and ran at the Center of Earth System Research group at UCLA, in partnership with UW and SCCWRP.
