Welcome to National Ocean Month!

06/01/2026

It’s June, and that means it’s National Ocean Month! Why "ocean" and not "oceans"? Because it's one global ocean. Names can be helpful references, they also aid navigation and delineate areas with distinctive features and ecosystems, but all that water works together as one big ocean. And just as the ocean is interconnected, we are all connected to it in one way or another — from the weather to the economy, the food on your table and the clothes on our backs. Take a moment to explore the resources NOAA’s National Ocean Service has to share this month!
